Our History

From humble beginnings to a center of academic excellence since 1979

Isingiro Secondary School is the biggest and oldest Secondary School in Isingiro District. It was started in 1979 as a church founded Secondary School, shortly before the 1979 Liberation War, to provide Secondary Education to the children of the Local Community around Isingiro and Bukanga Counties and other areas beyond like Rwampara, Kashari, Nyabushozi, Ibanda, Sheema and refugee children from Nakivale and Orukinga settlement camps.

The School occupied structures of the then Gayaza Primary School, which was shifted to Kabingo – Sub-county buildings which also was transferred to Ryakatimba hill, commonly known as Mile 17, where it is currently situated. Over the years, the school has maintained its commitment to academic excellence while expanding its facilities and programs to meet modern students' needs. Our alumni network includes professionals in various fields across Uganda and beyond.
